With 300 or so restaurants choosing where to eat in Puerto de la Cruz can be a bit mind boggling. If you fancy a bit of tapas tasting, then the results of the town’s recent ‘Ruta de la Tapa’ competition might help with the decision making.
Winner of the competition was La Casa Gallega on Calle Puerto Viejo, with neighbouring restaurant the stylish La Clave coming second and Los Tulipanes in Calle Cruz Verde in third place.

We ate in la Clave also last time we visited Puerto! I think it was really modern and easy to go bar/restaurant with exellant service. Very good pintxos and vine. We we loved las tulipas aswell - there we had surprise menú for six - very sympathetic owner/chef.

I saw your blog about La Clave, Kafka and Los Tulipanes.
There are some very good, contemporary restaurants in Puerto at the moment.
Try out Tapasbar La Costa in Los Cristianos. Near the harbour in the commercial centre. Delicious food for a good price. Owners are Dutch. Nice atmosphere and an amazing view over the sea!!
