Rod Stewart might grab all the headlines this month, but for anyone looking for something a bit different musically speaking, you can almost always find a fantastic choice of exciting and interesting musicians playing somewhere on Tenerife.One of Africa’s most famous singers, Youssou N’Dour brings the haunting sounds of West Africa to Santa Cruz at the end of the month.
Many people will remember him for the wonderful ‘7 Seconds’ with Neneh Cherry voted world song of the year back in 1995 and ‘Shaking the Tree’ with Peter Gabriel a few years before that; however it’s when he vocally explores his Senegalese roots that he really gets the hairs on the back of the neck tingling.
